the village

The new &Tradition showroom The Village opened a little while ago but we still couldn't resist showing it. Earlier this year we visited Copenhagen and were told about the design of this new showroom. It sounded impressive only hearing about it but the final result is even more impressive then we could imagine.

The showroom is created as a contemporary small scale version of a monochrome and harmonious village structure inside a big warehouse. Each house in this village, twelve in total, is built with a completely matt monochrome exterior like an architectural model landscape in 1:1 revealing each house very differentiated interior with its own function and purpose.

Norm Architects designed this amazing showroom and as always they managed to create something amazing. We cannot wait to visit it and experience this place for our selves.

Parc Boutique

Parc Boutique in Minneapolis is that place where you can find special items that are carefully curated by Thao Nguyen. Handmade jewelry, accessories, shoes and clothing are among the collection sold in her store.

The winter lookbook is truly inspring with beautiful photography and great captured moments and items. The contrast between dark and light creates a sophisticated atmosphere in a mysterious and minimalistic way.

"I live for the little joys in life. Handwritten notes, caramel lattes, plants, and time spent with loved ones filled with laughter puts a smile on my face. " - Thao -

gift boxes by Iittala

With the holidays ahead you can't get enough inspiration for gifts. Most of you probably already know Iittala from it's beautiful glass and tableware collection.

Iittala started as a glass factory and today it offers a collection of objects that are made to last a lifetime. They don't just create beautiful objects but believe in timeless design that will never be thrown away. All the Iittala products can be combined in so many ways depending on your taste and style.

For the upcoming holidays Iittala offers the perfect gift by 3 unique gift boxes with different themes: A toast to us, Let's enjoy good taste and Light up your life. We used the products from the box Light up your life for the above pictures. The box contains the Alvar Aalto bowl (designed in 1936!) and 3 different glass candle holders. The beautiful color blue, shapes and details makes this an ideal gift for someone special.

You can find all the gift boxes here and with the 3 different themes there is a perfect box for everyone.

Daylight Home by Ma-Style Architects

This home combines a lot of wood together. The color of the wood and the contrast between the different textures is perfectly balanced and we think the cubic structure, ceiling and patterns of sunlight are amazing. Ma-Style Architects added laminated wood, sky lights and roof-beams giving the house a nice distribution of natural light by adjusting the way of letting daylight in.
